Sure, everyone always talks about the best Oscars dresses [1] they've ever seen, but can we talk a little bit more about some of the accessories? The Academy Awards red carpet sees literally millions and millions of dollars [2] in jewels each year. From gold and silver to diamonds, rubies, and sapphires (oh my!), there's a little bit of everything to be found. And don't even get us started on the bags [3], because there are so many good ones to choose from.
We narrowed it down, though, to 14 of our absolute favourite Oscars accessories, which includes jewellery and bags, and you can see them all when you click through. We can't wait to see what the stars choose for this year's big show [4].

Scarlett wore this incredible Anna Hu Dragon Flower ring that had rubies, sapphires and diamonds set in white and yellow gold. She paired it with her lace column dress, and the stones popped against the monochrome of her dress.

Jennifer Lawrence's Chopard Necklace in 2013
The year Jennifer wore that hugely stunning Dior Haute Couture gown, she paired it with a ton of Chopard diamonds. While her earrings and ring were stunning, the centrepiece — a necklace of 74-carat strand of 150 diamond beads — made it all come together. Best of all, she wore the necklace backwards so the diamonds were dripping down her back for extra drama.

Gwyneth Paltrow's Anna Hu Earrings in 2015
In 2015, Gwyneth wore these Anna Hu Fire Phoenix earrings with her Ralph & Russo gown. InStyle reported that the earrings were: "Huge pear-shape cabochon rubellites [6] totaling almost 123 carats formed the pendants and the top portion of the jewels." The stones were surrounded by other stones, including diamonds and sapphires.

Kate's Stella McCartney dress may have landed her on all the worst dressed lists after the 2001 award show, but we don't really think it's the bad. Our favourite part of her look, though, is the sweet box bag she carried. Kate said later that she thought the bag was a bit too much for the outfit [8], but we're still fans.

Nicole was almost literally dripping in diamonds at the 2008 Oscars. The necklace clocked in at nearly 1400 carats [9] and was awash in various cuts, shapes, and sizes of diamonds — 7,645 diamonds to be exact.

Gloria Stuart's Harry Winston Necklace in 1998
In a completely fitting move, Gloria wore a $20 million Harry Winston necklace totally reminiscent of the Heart of the Ocean necklace from Titanic [10], the movie she starred in and was nominated for at that very Academy Awards. Just like the one in the movie, Gloria's necklace was a blue diamond and was 15 carats.
