Hide Your Credit Cards: The 6 Biggest Shoe Destinations
Today, Harrods reveals Shoe Heaven — a breathtaking new destination for shoe addicts. Spanning over 42,000 square feet, it will host more than 50 designer brands, ranging from classics Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin to Nicholas Kirkwood and Charlotte Olympia.
With this major move, Harrods is to become one of the biggest shoe destinations, surpassing Selfridges London's Shoe Galleries (35,000 square feet), Lane Crawford Hong Kong's Shoe Library (25,000 square feet), and Barneys on Madison Avenue in New York (22,000 square feet). However, there are some places that surpass this new Harrods heaven: Macy's Herald Square store offers shoe-holics 63,000 square feet of shoe dreams to dive in to!
But if Carrie Bradshaw really were to get down to business one more time, she'd probably take a trip to Dubai – not Abu Dhabi! Level Shoe District hosts 300 different designers across no less than 96,000 square feet. Let that sink in for a second . . . 96,000! It doesn't stop there, though. The store is also home to a variety of amenities that will make the search for your perfect pair(s) that much more exciting. There is a dedicated luxurious cobbler that offers shoe restoration services, you can indulge in delicious treats at the Vogue cafe or get a first-class professional pedicure. Obviously, there are also personal shoppers to assist one-on-one or in mother-daughter or bridal sessions. What else could a shoe-lover ask for? Scroll down for some pictures of shoe paradise!
