This Delicate Bralet Supports My E Cup Chest, and I'm Just as Surprised as You Are

Back in 2016, I thought I'd hit the jackpot when I discovered an M&S bralet that actually supported my 34E bust [1]. I bought it in three colours, I loved it dearly . . . but it wasn't quite perfect. It was sized by dress size, not cup, which meant the fit wasn't as good for others as it was for me. Friends who also tried it reported that the deep band rolled up on them. It didn't quite fit right in the centre of the bust. Thus my search for a truly magnificent, gravity-defying, fuller-bust bralet continued.

Fast forward a couple of years, and I was stocking up on my favourites from Boux Avenue, when I spotted the Lucie Triangle Bra [2] (£22). I'll be honest, at first I thought I'd clicked the wrong link. Surely there was no way this delicate little design came in sizes above a D cup? All the models are wearing 32C, after all.

But it does! It's actually graded up to an F cup and available in a whopping 15 colour options. There are over 300 reviews singing its praises, many of them from women with larger chests. Friends, the lingerie holy grail had been found. I didn't hesitate to place my order.

When it arrived and I saw how flimsy it seemed in comparison to my usual styles, I was unsure. This bra definitely does not look like it's going to work for a fuller bust, and I'll be honest with you, if you're looking for the kind of support you get from a fully wired style, you'll be disappointed. But when I put it on, I was surprised at just how much lift and support that stretchy lace gave me. And the comfort level is out of this world.

That said, there's definitely a reason Boux Avenue stopped this style at an F cup. It's good, but it's not a miracle worker. Lacy fabric like that is never going to work in the same way a moulded or padded style does. It definitely keeps things up where they belong, but the shape is not as rounded and forward as with a wired bra. If you've ever worn a triangle bikini, you'll know what I mean: there's the risk of side spillage for those of us with wide-set boobs! I found it runs a tiny bit small in the cup, so if you're between sizes, definitely go one cup size larger.

The band and straps are a shiny stretch fabric that is comfortable but noticeable. I'm used to a firm band, so this didn't bother me, but there's a back fastener for a more custom fit. You need the band to be tight to get the support, otherwise those slim straps are going to dig in. With this in mind, though the bra is significantly more comfortable than the scaffolding I usually wear, I can still feel it, and I still breathe a sign of relief at the end of the day when I come to take it off.

If you have a medium-to-full bust and you're fed up of painful bras or wires that poke you, I would definitely recommend trying this bra as an alternative to going braless. For day-to-day wear under dresses and blouses, it's been brilliant for me so far, and I'm definitely going to add more colours to my collection.
