Whilst the rest of the UK suffers a retail slump living in fear of a, dare I say it, recession Burberry profits are booming! The traditionally British label headed by designer-of-the-moment Christopher Bailey has reported an 18% sales increase in its second half. The biggest growth in clothes sales was driven by outerwear, knitwear and dresses possibly due to Burberry's hip advertising campaign headed by Agyness Deyn. They also saw growth in sales of handbags, footwear and accessories.
Burberry are expected to open 15 stores this year, and increase retail space by up to 13% year-on-year. Burberry have definitely stepped up their game over the past few seasons creating youthful twists on their classic styles.
