Burberry made their first venture in to social networking this morning as they launched the Art of the Trench which is a homage to the classic coat. The trench coat has become a wardrobe staple and the brand is synonymous with this style. Christopher Bailey wanted fans of the item to engage with each other by tapping in to their passion for the item. He told WWD, “It’s a natural extension of everything we’re doing on the digital front, and a way for our fans to interact with the culture of the brand and with the emotional aspects of the trenchcoat."
