Christopher Kane's Autumn Collection Is Worth Blowing Your Pension On
It looks as if Christopher Kane has been designing with the women of Advanced Style in mind, and the "rare bird of fashion" herself: Iris Apfel, as he presented his Autumn 2016 collection on Monday, channelling some serious "granny-chic" vibes. Styling his birds of paradise in silky bonnets that reminded us of rain hoods, they wore floral slips and pretty, pleated skirts, classic fur coats, teddy jackets, and knitted flower cardigans. Spectacles swung on chains, glittering brooches brightened woollen scarves, and feather trims complemented button-downs and booties. A wild pop of orange broke up the collection, leading to striped polonecks and skirt combos, exotic embroidery and monochrome ribbons (as if the dresses had unravelled), nodding to his signature unfinished style. One things for sure, his "Kane" knits will have fans flocking. And the collection's accessories? Worth blowing your pension on!
