Christopher Kane Kits Out His Domestic Goddesses in Florals, Jewels, and Crocs
Of all the lasting relationships in fashion, one we didn't expect to have quite so much longevity was Christopher Kane's collaboration with Crocs. When it first launched in September 2016, it seemed like a novelty. After all, it's not often you see Crocs on the feet of the kind of street style stars who lap up Kane's irreverent designs. But here we are a year later, with Kane showing yet another collection that features a dressed-up version of the rubber clog. This time, it's teamed with looks inspired by domestic goddesses: pretty dresses that are just one step from a housecoat, ruffled skirts that look like mops, doily collars, sparkly tops that could have been constructed from the family jewels, and even a t-shirt printed with a picture of a washing machine. This is a collection inspired by the home and everything in it but worn in a dishevelled, modern way. Maybe the Crocs aren't such a strange idea, after all?
