Chromat is ready to rid the fashion world of exclusive sample sizing. During the brand's Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week show on Sept. 8, several models walked the runway in printed "Sample Size" t-shirts, fighting against the traditional restrictive body stereotype.
According to Chromat's website (where the shirt is now available for purchase), using the label "sample size" is simply an excuse designers wield to limit the diversity of body types and abilities seen on a runway. Customary sample sizes usually involve a narrow fit margin, frequently between sizes zero to four. Through the bodywear brand's Saturation Runway Show, it hopes to encourage others in the industry to "celebrate all different size bodies on the runway" by sampling a variety of sizes.
