Coach's Spring 2016 Collection Is For the Cool Bohemian Globetrotter
British designer Stuart Vevers channelled bohemian vibes for Coach's Spring/Summer 16 show on Tuesday as models sported a ditzy daywear uniform of patchwork prints, floral dresses with pleated hems, cowgirl blouses, and 70's denim suits in a plethora of patterns and eye-popping colours. Set in a glass box on New York's High Line, with a mirrored catwalk on a bed of tall grasses, the collection wouldn't have looked out of place at a Hamptons beach party, a long weekend in Rome, or an English woodland festival. Adding an edge and stepping away from anything too prairie, Vevers injected an element of cool into the collection by incorporating primary coloured leather jackets, waistcoats, and miniskirts. As if this wasn't enough, the queen of cool herself, Debbie Harry, perched on the front row. If we could award gold stars for Coach's accessories we would — Vevers did not disappoint with pony-skin tiger boots and slip-ons, embellished baguettes, bowed collars, skinny printed belts, and monogrammed shoulder bags. Adding a dash of playfulness, the collection was topped off with a dinosaur sweater for good measure.
