It was a dark and dusty setting at the Coach Spring '19 show in New York, full of metal scraps, some of which formed an extra large dinosaur in the middle of the room. As for what made its way down the runway? The Americana- and Santa-Fe-inspired clothes [1] fit in pretty well with the scene at hand. There were bits of leather, denim, knits, and fur, all of which looked slightly oversize and came in neutral or muted colours. Even typically fun and glamorous elements [2], such as ruffles and fringe, felt more practical and toned down, while the shoes that completed each look — whether slouchy boots or thick-soled sneakers [3] — seemed perfect for walking through a desert.

Then, of course, we can't stop looking at all those Disney pieces, like those sweatshirts with graphics from The Aristocats and Dumbo. Part of us hopes we'll spot them on former Disney star — and Coach ambassador and designer [4] — Selena Gomez [5], who was sitting front row.
