The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits cinemas in the UK today, and we couldn't be more excited, because this time around, Panem is closer than you think. Costume designer Trish Summerville is giving fans the chance to channel their favourite characters with the upcoming Capitol Couture collection, which will sell exclusively on Net-A-Porter.com from Monday.
The collection is a broad cross section of everything Hunger Games. The idea was to invoke the spirit of The Capitol, rather than copying the costumes. As a result, many of the trend-led items will appeal even if you're not a fan of the books and films (yet)! The range kicks off with t-shirts and casualwear (from £60) emblazoned with a "love" logo and crossed arrows. There's also statement jewellery including a bow and arrow ear cuff (£120). Sportswear emulates the pieces worn by Katniss and co. in the training scenes, and no expense is spared when it comes to making sure these designs are just as high performance as the tributes' versions. Finally, there's the contemporary collection, which includes a fur-trimmed coat (£550), leather jacket, jumpsuits, sharp-angled cocktail dresses, and leather trousers (£470).
