These past few seasons, we've witnessed how many old trends have managed to make their way back into our wardrobes — so it was only a matter of time before the mum-approved corduroy made its own return.
Big in the '70s and very popular with the French in the late '90s, this thick, rigid fabric recently made a welcome comeback to the catwalks, proving that we shouldn't be afraid of it. Although technically a menswear staple, we've fallen for the way it looks as a pinafore dress, and we also love the dusky pink, burgundy, rust, and forest green hues it comes in — and if it was good enough for Jane Birkin, then it certainly is good enough for us.
