14 Tips For Planning the Most Stylish Disney Outfits of Your Life

I've been going to Disney World twice a year, at the very least, since I was born. Rather than travel from country to country, my parents have always preferred to travel from Disney hotel to Disney hotel. When you're with my family, you have to clarify whether you're referencing actual Japan or Japan in Epcot. Of course, this doesn't make me feel as cultured as I know I could be, and while I'm now attempting to accrue more stamps in my passport, I also understand why Disney has remained so significant in my life.

I love everything about planning a trip to good ol' Orlando, Florida, including packing my suitcase. I'm a fashion editor, so if you think I'm not strategically planning out my outfits, you've obviously overdosed on pixie dust. Here's me and my younger sister in Disney years ago, and do you see that look on my face? That's the look of a very pleased little '90s princess, who remembered to put on her stretch choker.

As I've gotten older, I've collected some really neat bomber jackets, biker shorts, and hoodies that help me profess my love for Disney. Most of them even happen to be indicative of my favourite characters. I don't only wear them when I'm running around Magic Kingdom, but to the POPSUGAR office, the grocery store, and dinner with friends. I'm not embarrassed by my Disney obsession, I own it in the chicest, most elevated way that I possibly can.

I keep my ears open for major collaborations (my favourite to date is Disney x Levi's — how iconic is that combo?!) and I spend my money on accessories that may not even be official park merch, but are totally worth it. I'll do anything to amplify my Disneygrams, and I'm willing to share my magical styling tips with you along with my current must haves list, in exchange for your fast pass to Pandora World's Avatar Flight of Passage . . . just kidding.

These printed jeans are from the Fall 2018 Disney x Levi's collection.

When my cousin travelled to Italy, she brought me back this authentic tee you definitely can't find in America. I have a few collector's items like this that I'll treasure forever. I usually pack them for every Disney trip.

I like to wear ethereal tops and even animal print when I'm headed to Animal Kingdom. I try to blend in with the environment, because that usually makes for the best atmospheric photo win.

These Miu Miu heart shades are super playful and show off my strong love for just the idea of being in Disney World.

Yep, I love The Little Mermaid, so I'm always searching for cute bombers and tees that signify my favourite princess. I found this stitched jacket on NYLON's old shop and practically sprinted for my credit card.

Since Ariel's my favourite princess, I tend to wear a lot of red, green, and purple in Disney. But sticking to the classic Disney palette will be key; these shades are all around you as you navigate through the parks, and you never know when the perfect photo opportunity will present itself.

My sister is big on collecting socks that feature her favourite characters (like Olaf from Frozen). She lets them peek out from her Vans, and it looks ridiculously cool. Plus, she gets compliments everywhere she goes.

If you and the rest of your fam like the same Disney merch, sport it proudly as you make your way down Main Street, USA.

Wear the sneakers you're most comfortable in when you're walking around the parks, no matter what. It's just not worth it to wear a platform shoe or something crazy for the sake of fashion. What you should do is look for sporty sneaker collabs in popping colours or even trainers embroidered with the mouse.

As soon as I laid eyes on it, I was obsessed with this zip-up that basically transforms its wearer into Mickey Mouse. The only issue? I was spotting it on children. You'd be surprised how big the sizes run in the boys' section, and the prices are lower too. Don't knock the hoodie section — you never know what you'll find.

You really only need a cute graphic backpack to profess your love for Mickey. Even if you were wearing a white tee and denim cutoffs with this bag, your look would be on point.

While I always pack my trainers, I'm sure to bring my white low-tops along for shorter days in the park or nights out at Disney Springs where I'll still be casual, but a little more polished.

When I went to college in NYC, I eyed this awesome pop-up where the graphic designers paired Mickey hands with all different slogans. My sister and I basically eat, breathe, and sleep for Mickey — Disney is definitely our religion. These days, you can find a bunch of shops like this online or through Instagram.
