Over the past year and a half or so, my style has really evolved. After years of being all over the map, I've hit a minimal stride, favouring simple pieces like slip skirts, button-down shirts, dresses, and jeans. Perhaps it's the result of living in New York for almost 10 years, or the fact that since turning 30 I can no longer be bothered to dress impractically. Whatever the cause, when getting dressed each morning, I routinely default to a few easy outfit formulas for a fuss-free process. While my personal aesthetic very much centres around neutral tones like ivory, beige, and black, the colourful floral motif falls within my comfort zone of prints — especially when combined with honey-coloured extras like my textured Tory Burch boots and oversize leather button-down shirt from Ganni.
Now, I realise that this style of shirt might feel a bit bold if you're a simple dresser like me, but tailored leather pieces are a major trend this Fall. Plus, the classic button-down silhouette helps temper the impact of the fabric.
