Prepare For Winter Pastels Courtesy of Emilia Wickstead
If there's one thing the Emilia Wickstead customer will be next season, it's warm. Fabrics in her Autumn/Winter show were thick, heavy, and luxurious, from stiff, checked silk gowns to rich woollen coats. However, when it came to colour, things felt surprising unwintry, as Wickstead opted for a pale palette of soft beige, muted aqua, cornflower blue, blush pink, and powder yellow. Midi dresses with the designer's now trademark wide, three-quarter-length sleeves were definitely not in short supply, but we also loved the belted jackets and one particularly spectacular single-breasted, floor-length coatdress in a yellow waffle fabric.
Things did darken up in the second half, as a bold purple and lilac print segued into a series of darker coatdresses, full skirts in charcoal check, a burgundy and orange print, and even a flash of black patent leather. To finish, a halter-neck red dress with a choker detail and full, heavy skirt stole both the show and our hearts.
