Emilia Wickstead Is Colouring Outside the Lines For Spring 2015
Emilia Wickstead obviously got the memo this London Fashion Week. Her show had many of the hallmarks of those that came before, including plenty of yellow, stiff silks, pops of unexpected colour, and minimalist pale hues. Is this going to be the most cohesive LFW yet? It definitely feels like Wickstead, Amanda Wakeley, Paul Costelloe, and Orla Kiely were in cahoots when it came to colour trends, and we know for sure that the one thing we'll be picking up come Spring is a statement coat in a shade of lemon, bubblegum, or green. Wickstead's designs in particular will, of course, make perfect maternity wear for a certain royal fan, but really all eyes were on the closing gowns, including a big heavy number in a narrow stripe and a soft pink halter with a front slit. We also loved a raunchy little oyster-hued bodysuit, a bright orange dress with long sleeves and a full skirt, and a long yellow wrap skirt, open at the front to reveal plenty of leg.
