The '70s are trending big right now, and according to Emilia Wickstead's latest collection, we'll be under the decade's haze for another Summer to come.
The designer, whose built her label on timeless, feminine pieces, drew a crowd that included Olivia Palermo, Dianna Agron, and Laura Bailey to the unveiling of a Spring collection that was inspired in part by '70s love hotels. Despite the somewhat seedy connotation, the collection that followed was a pretty, pastel take on the concept.
Wickstead made modest, billowing '70s shapes fun and youthful by using a palette of pretty pastels in predominantly pink shades, while breezy chiffons and webbed overlays added a sexy vibe. All they were missing were flower crowns and a field of daisies to run through.
The collection is a perfect example of why Emilia is a favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge's, the designer makes retro and modest feel refreshingly modern.
