Rumours were circulating, that ex-Nina Ricci creative director Olivier Theyskens might defect to Halston, but those were squashed a few weeks ago. It has now been revealed that British designer Marios Schwab is heading to the label.
Schwab caught the eye of Halston at the last London Fashion Week where his own line impressed president Bonnie Takhar. Speaking to WWD she said, "He used a lot of jersey... in a very modern way. The silhouettes were also very fluid, and we thought they had a very modern Halston interpretation."
He will begin his new position on the 1st July with a move to New York, but don't panic — he will still present his own collection in London as well.
