Tommy Hilfiger has ventured in the realms of television today with the launch of his online music channel, Tommy TV. The channel will show the Hilfiger Sessions, which are concerts the fashion label has organized in association with Sony BMG. Fred Gehring, chief executive officer of the Tommy Hilfiger Group explained to WWD, "“Music and fashion go hand in hand. Not every music lover loves Tommy and not every Tommy lover loves music, but it so happens there's a big overlap."
They decided that it was more appropriate to launch online because that is where people spend the most time. It also allows users to pick and chose between the footage. The music available will vary from well known artists such as Wyclef Jean to upcoming talent.
