Last week, there were rumours that Google was venturing in to fashion, and today it has been confirmed. The search engine is set to launch virtual designer boutiques on Wednesday offering consumers an exciting new way to shop online. The new site will also allow users to create their own shops stocking brands that they love. Google have reportedly got Sarah Jessica Parker on board as she sets up her own personalised shop and are in talks with Katie Holmes. The new venture is yet to have an official name, but is currently being dubbed Boutique.com.
It sounds like a great idea and makes sense for more bonds to form between the world of technology and fashion. However, since I'm already addicted to ShopStyle, I would never need anything more! I am definitely intrigued to see Google grow though. Are you surprised by this move?
