Frida Giannini managed to overcome Europe's air travel problems last night to open Gucci's pop-up store in Covent Garden with a celebrity packed party. The temporary shop is dedicated to the latest trainers line designed with Mark Ronson. Frida Giannini, Gucci’s creative director, talked about choosing the perfect location, "Finding the London location was tough — we looked at different areas, but we chose Covent Garden because it’s such a cool place. Saint Martin’s [art and design school] is nearby, and I used to go to the neighborhood every weekend when I lived in London." The store sells 17 limited edition Gucci trainers styles (15 for men, 2 for women) which all retail for £400. It will be open for the next three weeks before traveling to Tokyo.
