House of Holland Brings Us Gingham and Glam Rock For Autumn 2015
Henry Holland's got a thing about brightly coloured gingham, and when his favourite print opened the Autumn/Winter 2015 collection, we wondered if we were preparing for a greatest-hits show. But while many of the House of Holland trademarks were obvious as the show progressed, there was also a feeling that the designer is growing up a little. There were still plenty of rock-and-roll cool-girl looks, but the colours were more muted than we've seen from Holland before, and additions like high-necked lace midi dresses, scarves tied around the neck, and cropped, wide-legged trousers added a dash of maturity.
That said, there was definitely no shortage of fun. Models took to a conveyor belt, rather than a catwalk, and a series of huge furry garments were pure Instagram gold. Clearly the success of Shrimps, another fun London label loved by the coolest girls in the city, inspired these statement creations. The good news: there was a fluffy piece for all tastes. If you can't cope with a glam-rock red and cream striped coat, perhaps a furry purple clutch is more your style?
