Everything Is Groovy at House of Holland For Spring 2015
Prepare for a retro explosion! Henry Holland took us back to the '70s with his House of Holland collection, which featured all the hallmarks of the era, from fringed suede to tunics and flares, wide lapels and big collars. The colour palette was bright and bold, with rainbows of swirly flowers in shades of orange, red, yellow, pink and blue. Print-wise, along with florals, there were zebra-inspired narrow stripes, crochet-style lace, and a flame-inspired orange option, all mixed together for a riot of runway colour.
Most interesting, though, were the later dresses, which reminded us of childhood artwork but looked all grown up. Remember the scratch-off designs that we created as kids with wax crayons, layering black over a rainbow of hues and scratching off the top layer to reveal the image below? Imagine that on a dress. Yep, we want one, too!
