The title of the Spring 2019 House of Holland show was "Pull in Emergency", in homage to the instructions written on the alarms on the London tube. The entire show was a tribute to the busy life of the modern woman: models walked the runway with wet hair, as if they'd run out of the house in a rush, and and they dressed in a heavily stylised version of the wardrobe of London's career women: sharp suits, statement denim, diaphanous dresses, athleisure for those pre- or post-work gym trips, and sparkly Swarovski pencil skirts for those long-awaited Saturday nights out. After growing up last season, the House of Holland muse is now a career girl, but she's not forgotten her sense of humour. The label's Instagram joked "the bags under our eyes are from the new collection, promise . . ." and indeed, the bags were a highlight, as were the pockets built into the early outfits, perfect for stashing your lipstick for a bit of on-the-move makeup (though on the runway, they housed vape pens, part of a collaboration with Vype). Though the collection may have been London-centric, women across the world can relate to the struggles of the daily commute. Keep reading to see the collection in full.
