Whittling down your wardrobe to just a few key pieces sounds efficient, but in a fashion world that often values the more-is-more approach, it's clear we like our options — and plenty of them. But! It can be done, and this season we're showing you how.
You'll often see capsule wardrobes that prioritise neutral colours and basic silhouettes, since they're easier to mix and match. We're telling you now, the capsule we've created isn't one of those. Nope, we've got prints, patterns, Autumn tones, and textures galore, not to mention plenty of current trends for you to play with. And that doesn't even factor in all the ways you can bring in fun touches through shoes and accessories.

Outfits 1-3 With Faux Leather Culottes
Black trousers may be a capsule wardrobe staple, but just because they're basic, doesn't mean they have to be boring. Faux leather culottes are a fashion-forward take and look polished no matter what you wear them with. For example, a simple bodysuit, structured coat, and calf boots make for a sharp work look, while the same bodysuit combined with a faux fur coat and tall snakeskin boots creates a glamorous night look. Alternatively, you could wear the culottes with a bright Autumn knit, kitten-heel mules, and an on-trend mini bag for a sophisticated weekend look.
Outfits 4-6 With Straight-Leg Jeans
There is perhaps nothing more capsule wardrobe-worthy than jeans. A pair in a classic cut and wash, like this straight-leg option, can take you far, but the key to creating unique and varied outfits lies in the accessories. It's easy enough to wear the jeans with the jumper and bodysuit, but details like a hair clip that brings out the mustard hue, or a snakeskin shoulder bag that contrasts the black bodysuit will take your looks to the next level and set them apart from one another. In fact, each outfit is so different from the next, nobody will realise they all center on the same pair of jeans.
Outfits 7-9 With a Check Dress
If you thought our capsule wardrobe would include the standard LBD, let us introduce you to a more compelling contender: the printed dress. Checked prints aren't going anywhere for Autumn, and this season, we're taking full advantage of this tartan number. Because of its muted hues, the dress plays nicely with the other neutral and warm tones in the capsule. You can wear it as a straightforward dress with the olive coat.
