Now We Know What We'll Be Wearing in 9 Months' Time
Despite the departure of both founding designer Daniella Helayel and her successor, Blue Farrier, over the last couple of years, Issa still appears to be going strong with a Pre-Fall collection that would easily slot into the wardrobes of any fashion fan. The keyword is "sophistication," keeping things simple with a navy, black, and neutral palette offset by flashes of fuchsia and blush. For a brand most known for bohemian printed wrap dresses, it's a surprise that some of the standout styles are coats, trousers, and structured styles, but they still know where their bread is buttered. The collection fuses key Issa classics (like the famous Kate Middleton engagement dress) with new, edgier pieces and smart tailoring, taking the brand in a new direction without disappointing loyal fans. Pre-Fall's transitional dressing issues are tackled with smart, belted sleeveless coats; soft capes; and flowing dresses layered over long-sleeved tops, while sharp, colourblock jumpsuits and pleated dresses offer some chic cocktail options. If this is how we're all going to be dressing in September, then roll on, Autumn.
