Jean Paul Gaultier has been a busy man since leaving Hermes. He collaborated on lingerie with La Perla, planned a line with Target and now he has created furniture with Roche Bobois. The collection launches today to mark the 50th anniversary of the brand. Jean Paul told WWD about the inspiration behind the pieces, "Almost all the pieces in this collection have wheels, because I wanted people to be able to move each item from one room to another. I feel that it is good that when you’re at home, you are able to move things that you love. This gives you so much more possibilities."
This isn't the first time he has ventured in to homewares, JPG launched a limited range with VIA in the '90s. He added, "The challenge for me was to bring my savoir faire and adapt it to the furniture world, which is quite different from fashion." You can see his designs below including the very French nautical wallpaper! Do you like it when fashion designers turn their hand at interiors?
