After Jennifer Aniston [1] and Justin Theroux announced their separation [2], many fans started to speculate about a Jennifer and Brad Pitt reunion [3]. But we fashion girls had something else on our minds. We wanted to know what would happen to her engagement ring! Justin proposed to Jen in 2012 [4] with an estimated eight carat stunner, after more than a year of dating. While Jennifer admitted back then she took awhile to get "used to it," since she wasn't a "diamond girl," Jen wore the ring on every red carpet since receiving it.

The sparkler, however, has now become a hot topic in the ex-couple's divorce. Will Jen keep it? Will she give it back? An L.A. based attorney and certified family law specialist may have given us a clue [5] as to what will happen. "The engagement ring pre-dates the marriage, and therefore is Jennifer's separate property regardless of whether it is mentioned in the prenuptial agreement. As long as the parties get married, then the recipient keeps the engagement ring," said David Glass to People.

If what he says is true — and if Jennifer and Justin really got married (there are rumors they didn't [6]) — then, obviously, Jennifer would get to keep the ring. Otherwise, it appears the actress might have to let it go. In that case, at least we'll always have the photos below.
