Jenny Packham Has Moves Like Jagger For Spring 2016
How does a designer who's famous for creating incredibly feminine evening gowns approach androgyny? If you're Jenny Packham, it's with a collection inspired by the likes of Mick Jagger, Nick Cave, David Bowie, and Patti Smith. The designer explored "the dualism of masculinity and femininity" in her Spring/Summer 2016 collection, which featured everything from '70s-style trouser suits to floor-length silver sparklers. It wasn't too much of a departure from her usual look; the masculine elements came mostly in loosely tied blouses, slouchy shirtdresses, and glittery pinstripes, so those who like her for her princess-worthy gowns will not be disappointed. But the dark colour palette and masculine edge added a louche feel that bought the label right up to date.
