Karl Lagerfeld Had One Woman in Mind at Chanel's Couture Show
When a runway show closes with 20 white dresses, you know there's one woman in particular on the designer's mind: the bride. And how could Karl Lagerfeld not have weddings on the brain with Poppy Delevingne having just said "I do" in one of the year's prettiest gowns?
But the embellished white designs weren't all that'd make a bride-to-be swoon (or any other woman, for that matter). The models' pretty bowed sandals would steal the heart of any feminine dresser, while Chanel's chain-strap crossbody bags are destined to be the It bag of the season. In lieu of trainers, which Lagerfeld used to punctuate his last couture collection, the models wore jaunty sequinned hats down the aisle — make that catwalk!
While we're back on the subject of brides, we wondered (perhaps halfheartedly) if nuptials would soon include running shoes after the Spring Chanel collection, so we can't help but hope we'll be seeing the label's pretty flats peeking out from underneath wedding dresses soon. And those white gowns — you have to see them to believe them!
