There was a surprised update to Paris Fashion Week yesterday as Karl Lagerfeld canceled his signature collection presentation. The designer is currently working on one-off capsule collection for Hogan that will still be unveiled with a short film that he conceived on 2nd October.
The presentation is said to have been canceled so that Lagerfeld can concentrate on a new "masstige" ready-to-wear collection which is expected to be unveiled in time for Autumn 2011. This line will be sold almost exclusively online and will be “something affordable for lots of people.”
Karl told WWD, “I wanted this for a long time. I prefer to work in another way. I can’t compete with Chanel. I don’t want to be the poor child of myself. This has been my vision for years.”
