After a fancy evening at the BAFTA Awards [1] and a stylish afternoon amongst fashion's elite [2], the Duchess of Cambridge has resumed her royal duties. On Wednesday morning, Kate stepped out in Sunderland, to open an arts and music centre. For the occasion, she wore a custom, military-inspired Dolce & Gabbana coat over the Séraphine Phaedra dress [3] (£159), and accessorised her outfit with a matching clutch, black gloves, tights, and a pair of suede Tod's pumps.
If this outfit looks familiar, it's because Kate sported a very similar style during the royal tour of Norway and Sweden [4]. Of course, the duchess has worn quite a few outerwear pieces over the years [5], but as double-breasted coats seem to be a firm fashion favourite, seeing her invest in similar-looking pieces isn't really a surprise. After all, her future sister-in-law Meghan Markle does the same thing [6]. Ahead, get a closer look at her full outfit, then shop similar pieces for yourself.
