Kate Middleton's Yellow Outfit Added Some Much-Needed Sunshine to Trooping the Colour

It should come as no surprise that both Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex turned to their most-trusted designers for outfits to wear to Trooping the Colour. The military parade and RAF fly-past is a highlight of the royal calendar, celebrating the queen's official birthday, and such events call for a very appropriate outfit. Who better to call on than the fashion house you trusted on your wedding day?

Just as Meghan Markle chose Givenchy for her look, Kate entrusted Alexander McQueen to dress her for the carriage ride. The duchess wore a Summery pale yellow look that included her trademark: a coat dress. She topped the look with a dramatic hat by the milliner Philip Treacy, which featured large blooms under the tilted brim. On a dull and overcast London day, she was a ray of sunshine.
