For those who are lucky enough to score an invite to the Met Gala [1], you get that firsthand glimpse at all the fashion and glamour [2] that ensues. Hollywood's biggest stars — all approved by Anna Wintour, of course — arrive in custom ensembles designed with a certain theme in mind. With so many guests year after year, there are definitely celebrities to keep your eyes on. Naturally, Rihanna [3] and Amal Clooney [4] (who will both be cohosting this year) are ones to track, but we're also holding our breath for Katy Perry [5].
The singer first popped up at the Met Gala in 2009 and even cohosted the 2017 event [6]. If you remember, the theme was Rei Kawakubo/Commes des Garcons, and Katy got really into it. She wore a custom Maison Margiela Artisanal [7] look in bright red, and the ensemble was made for the cameras. Though Katy has yet to confirm whether she will be attending this year's Met Gala (the theme is Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination [8]), we're secretly hoping she shows up in something that will make our heads spin. Based on her past colourful outfits, it's safe to assume her choice will be dangerously daring.

The theme for the 2016 Met Gala was Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology. Katy wore a midnight blue velvet Prada gown with gold trim and long gloves.
In 2015, Katy attended the Met Gala in Moschino by Jeremy Scott. The theme was China: Through the Looking Glass.
In 2013, Katy wore Dolce & Gabbana for the Met Gala theme Punk: Chaos to Couture.
For the 2010 Met Gala, when the theme was American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity, Katy wore a Cute Circuit dress with LED lights. She wore Christian Louboutin shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Katy marked her first public appearance at the 2009 Met Gala in Tommy Hilfiger.
