In a behind-the-scenes video released by Vogue [2] on May 8, Kylie revealed her getting ready process, which included a last-minute moment of outfit indecision. Thanks to her sisters, Khloé Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, Kylie took the plunge with the exaggerated sleeves to fit the night's "Camp: Notes on Fashion" theme.
The Versace design team and Donatella Versace sent Kylie preliminary sketches of her gown four months before the Met Gala. After a few tweaks here and there, they settled on a second-skin crystal mesh design with purple detailing and ostrich feathers which took 30 days to craft. On the day of the ball, the dress simply needed a little tightening — and for Kylie to settle on an accessory.
