Marc by Marc Jacobs Is Just Playing With Us
Marc Jacobs and New York Fashion Week go together like peas and carrots. And yet, for the Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2015 show, the label was in complete contrast.
For Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier's second collection at the helm, the design duo created an experience of complete juxtaposition. At the centre of the runway were concentric neon triangles, and yet the show was littered with pretty pastel polka dots. The colour palette was largely a stark black and white. And what goes more jarringly with a modern, latex-accented collection than the classic Vienna waltz, "The Blue Danube"?
But, much like the line's fanned-out ruffle details that resembled decks of cards, this was all just a game. Call it "new world system" as Spring's street style must-have tees read — this is one game that we can't wait to play.
