You Know You Can't Reach Out and Touch These Sparkly Oscars Accessories, But You're Probably Going to Try Anyway

05/03/2018 - 05:12 AM

All that glimmers is surely gold . . . or platinum, or diamond-encrusted. That's what the Oscars red carpet had us realising. From archival jewels dating back to the beginning of the 20th century to brand-new debuts from trademark jewelers, the stars didn't leave a single gemstone unturned. Ahead, we've collected the most lust-worthy accessory moments that deserve a second — or third, or fifteenth — look. Just try not to reach through your computer screen to swipe it. They're on loan.

Gal Gadot

The Wonder Woman star let this brand-new custom Tiffany & Co. necklace — with its 27-carat aquamarine drop and more than 1,000 diamonds — do all the heavy lifting.

Lupita Nyong'o

We couldn't take our eyes off the Black Panther [1] star's hair — she wore a strand of faux leaves, which was inspired by traditional Rwandan Amasunzu hairstyles, through her natural strands.

Elisabeth Moss

There was no clutch more whimsical than the cream Roger Vivier one — bedecked with three-dimensional flowers — that Moss carried down the red carpet.

Emma Stone

She may have chosen a suit, but the actress still added a feminine touch with these Louis Vuitton garnet vintage earrings.

Helen Mirren

The actress topped her blue custom Reem Acra dress with oversized monochromatic jewels — including a 115-carat cushion-cut sapphire and diamond necklace and matching 25-carat earrings — courtesy of Harry Winston. The grand total for all her well-coordinated bling? A whopping $3.8 million.t

Viola Davis

On one hand: three-link diamond bracelets. On the other? A jewel-embellished Roger Vivier hot pink clutch to match Viola's even hotter pink dress.

Nicole Kidman

Harry Winston was responsible for these 24-carat cluster-diamond chandelier sparklers dangling from the Oscar winner's ears.

Mary J. Blige

The singer's Forevermark earrings were showstopping.

Allison WIlliams

These 16-carat Harry Winston "river diamond" earrings were positively entrancing.

Allison Janney

The I, Tonya star chose a classic 55-carat diamond necklace in platinum by Forevermark with Premier Gem stud earrings.

Ashley Judd

The actress opted for vintage Bulgari jewels, including a diamond two-strand necklace circa 1930 and a platinum-set diamond bracelet circa 1939.

Greta Gerwig

The Lady Bird director's Tiffany & Co. moonstone necklace came straight out of the archives — it was designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s.

Zendaya

It was hard to notice anything other than Zendaya [2]'s Bulgari vintage art deco pendant diamond earrings.

Margot Robbie

Talk about starstruck: the Academy Award nominee chose delicate star-studded diamond earrings in 18-carat white gold.

Margot Robbie

The spherical lucite clutch on a chain link strap was the perfect transparent addition to Margot's all-white look.

Tiffany Haddish

The star's jaw-dropping zuria ensemble and head piece were both inspired by her Eritrean heritage.
