This season the fashion world has using a new word, just to confuse mere mortals. The word 'Paillettes' has been used to describe items on the catwalk by Christopher Kane and Oscar de la Renta. However, if you're still confused as to what it refers then keep reading.
A paillette is defined as "A small, shiny ornament, as a metal disk, used in decorating women's dresses, etc."
Essentially a paillette is very similar to a sequin but usually larger. For the party season they have adorned everything from shoes at Miu Miu to dresses at Christopher Kane to clutch bags at Roberto Cavalli.
This paillettes dress is by Oscar de la Renta (£3063).
