Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2009: John Galliano

John Galliano strongly referenced his childhood home in his Spring line which was presented to Paris on Saturday evening. The collection included 3ft busbys (maybe he wants to redesign the Queen's guard uniform?) and oversized First Sea Lord ceremonial hats in a variety of shocking colours.

There were plenty of clashing neon pastel shades from yellow to hot pink and red. The looks were teamed with sky high metallic platform heels.

Much like the rest of Paris Fashion Week, Galliano produced a very wearable collection. Take away the clashing headwear and you're left with pretty floral tea dresses and delicate Summer tops.

There were sheer lace pieces, ruffles and dresses with definite red-carpet appeal. The show took place at a train garage just in the outer suburbs whilst the catwalk stood alongside a railway track. Front-row guests curiously included Peter Andre and Katie "Jordan" Price as well as Dita von Teese and the artist Peter Blake. Could Peter and Katie be the inspiration for his next line?
