The National Portrait Gallery gala on March 12 turned out be a right royal affair. Kate Middleton was busy getting a little extra wear out of a (slightly modified) Alexander McQueen gown [1], but it was Princess Beatrice who got tongues wagging as she made her first appearance with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who she is said to have been dating since September 2018 [2]. For this important date night, Beatrice opted to wear a red Alaia dress, and in true '90s girl style, we'll be damned if we're not going to make the obvious Clueless reference [3].

Beatrice opted for a red velvet shirtdress by this "totally important designer," which she teamed with black tights and navy velvet Jimmy Choo Daphne pumps. A studded red belt and a black croc clutch bag finished the look.
