ICYMI, the '80s have been taking over when it comes to street style trends. With that decade on our minds, we couldn't help reminiscing about one person who did it best: Princess Diana. The British Royal's style [1] perfectly encapsulated so much that was wacky and wonderful about '80s style. We did a bit of digging to find 11 photos of the late princess that pretty much sum up the era — think blazers, big collars, and so much silk.

The Everyday Blazer

Diana wore the '80s staple while walking in London back in 1980, before she even officially became a princess.

A Printed Jumper

No Sloane Ranger [2]'s wardrobe was complete without a bright, printed jumper, which Diana wore during a stay at Balmoral in Scotland with Prince Charles in 1981.

Dungarees

Diana rocked a pastel-yellow pair while cheering on Prince Charles at a polo match in 1981.

Oversize Everything

Diana modelled the '80s trend during 1984, when pregnant with Prince Harry, at a polo match.

Ornate Collars

Diana put a unique spin on a collared shirt while attending a horse race in 1981.

Long Silk Dresses

Princess Diana's bright-blue silk-looking dress was so very '80s. Here, she posed with Prince Charles and Prince Edward during a 1983 visit to New Zealand.

The One-Shouldered Top

Diana helped make the one-shouldered look popular for nighttime during a 1982 evening in London.

The Skinny Belt

Diana's look during a 1981 visit to Wales practically screams, "1980s!"

A Big, Bold Collar

Diana's collar did the talking during a 1983 visit to Canada.

Long Skirts

Diana's long skirt even matched her jacket while in Balmoral with Prince Charles in 1981.

The Suit Set

Diana wore the 1980s working-woman uniform during a 1981 outing in Scotland with Prince Charles.
