Princess Sofia of Sweden gave Kate Middleton a run for her money [1] on Tuesday, as the Swedish royal family hosted the Italian president at a state dinner. Dressed in a look from bridal designer Zetterberg Couture, the princess looked stunning in a full skirt in delicate lace, teamed with a satin top with bracelet sleeves. Since this was a state occasion, she also got to wear a glittering tiara.
There aren't many occasions that bridalwear is an appropriate choice besides an actual wedding, but this is definitely one of the rare occasions when it works. The lace design harkened back to Sofia's own wedding dress [3], which featured long lace sleeves and appliqués, but the shorter hemline, which showed off her satin shoes, gave it a new twist.
