Rachel Vosper Teaches Me Candle-Making Art and Etiquette
Earlier this week I made my way over to a charming windy mews in Belgravia to explore the art of candle making with shop owner Rachel Vosper. Rachel, who began her career in candle making over 16 years ago, got her start in Barbados. She then moved her company to Devon and finally to the heart of London. Her clients include politicians, celebrities, and socialites, and she has even collaborated with other well-known brands to create bespoke scented candles.
In the two afternoons that I went to visit Rachel in her newly opened boutique, her passion for candle making and scents is not only apparent but infectious. Her range currently contains six fragrances, which include Jasmine; Tuberose; Choisya (orange); Echinacea; Sandalwood; and Cedar, Rosemary, and Mint. However, she did give me a sneak peek at three of her seasonal Christmas scents, and I was able to create my very own candle using them! Read through to learn about her special services, how I created my candle, and how to keep your candles and wicks in tip-top shape!
