All the Sparkly and Fun Red Carpet Looks From This Year's CMT Awards

06/06/2019 - 03:59 PM

We look forward to the CMT Awards [1] every single year, because not only do we get to hear live performances [2] of our favourite new country songs [3], we also get to watch our favourite stars win awards and — most importantly — make their way down the red carpet in fun looks [4].

Before that actually happens, we mentally sort through a million and one questions in anticipation. Will Carrie Underwood [5] debut a look that's totally out of the ordinary? Will every single one of our fave celebs shine in sequins from head to toe? Will Luke Bryan accept my marriage proposal? Along with all of the dutiful country fans out there, we tuned into the 2019 CMT Awards [6] on June 5 to discover the best of the best looks from the red carpet, all while nursing popcorn and beer and cheering on the country stars like they're our family. Ahead, find 20 red carpet looks we fell in love with — including plenty of sequins, sparkles, and well, more sequins.

Carrie Underwood at the 2019 CMT Awards

Carrie Underwood wore a fully beaded, plunging long-sleeve mini dress [8] by Michael Cinco. The show-stopping dress featured intricate turquoise and gold embroidery.

Sarah Hyland at the 2019 CMT Awards

CMT Awards presenter Modern Family's Sarah Hyland [9] wore a plunging mini black sequin dress complete with statement-making ruffled black sleeves and a long, hanging belt. She paired the dress with a pair of simple, strappy black heels.

Carly Pearce at the 2019 CMT Awards

Hello, sparkles! Country singer Carly Pearce stole the show with her long-sleeve mini dress. Look closer and you'll see that it's covered in multi-coloured sequins.

Jimmie Allen at the 2019 CMT Awards

Jimmie Allen proved that denim can totally work on the red carpet when it's done right. He wore a white t-shirt under a denim jacket, paired with ripped denim jeans and wide-brimmed hat. He added in a few accessories, too, including turquoise earrings, rings and bracelets.

Kelsea Ballerini at the 2019 CMT Awards

Kelsea Ballerini [10] wore an off the shoulder, one-sleeved white sequin gown by Bluemarine. Its flowy, asymmetrical pattern made the look hard to veer our eyes away. We're extra-obsessed with her the beaded hair band that secures her ponytail — it's zoom-in worthy.

Thomas Rhett at the 2019 CMT Awards

Thomas Rhett, adorable father [11], stood out on the red carpet in his maroon-coloured suit paired with black loafers, and a patterned pocket square for good measure.

Maren Morris at the 2019 CMT Awards

Always stylish Maren Morris [12] showed up in an embellished Fausto Puglisi mini dress with cutouts. She paired the '70s-inspired look with a pair of bronze heels.

Leon Bridges at the 2019 CMT Awards

Leon Bridges hung up the traditional suit and went for an all yellow-printed, vintage-looking top and matching flare-pants. To complete the look, he paired it with a wide brim beige hat and black boots for an effortlessly-cool vibe.

Jessie James Decker at the 2019 CMT Awards

Jessie James Decker turned heads with this off-the-shoulder suede pink mini dress, which she paired with triple-strap sandals featuring crystal embellishments.

Bobby Bones at the 2019 CMT Awards

Can we get a slow clap for this ensemble from on-air radio host Bobby Bones? He wore a white t-shirt that says "support female artists" paired with red and black suspenders and some white sneakers.

Luke Bryan at the 2019 CMT Awards

Cutie Luke Bryan [13] elevated his all-black ensemble with a dark brown Tom Ford suit jacket with a metallic sheen.

Caylee Hammack at the 2019 CMT Awards

Please excuse us while we continue to scream about this dazzling jumpsuit worn by Caylee Hammack. The '70s vibes are on point and the shade of blue truly couldn't be any more perfect on her. The perfect finishing touch to the look were her large square-shaped gold earrings.

Morgan Wallen at the 2019 CMT Awards

Morgan Wallen impressed us with his country-meets-'70s ensemble. The artist played with a mix of mismatched patterns, for an overall look that worked. We're particularly obsessed with his light blue matching set — those flared bottoms, especially.

Tenille Townes at the 2019 CMT Awards

Belle bottoms are back, baby! Townes flaunts the trend in a bright coral halter jumpsuit with turquoise earrings for a pop of colour.

Kane Brown at the 2019 CMT Awards

Kane Brown wore a printed bomber jacket paired with ribbed jeans, hiking boots, and a hat with his initials, "KB." FYI, you can pick up the same hat in white on Brown's merch site [14] if you're inclined to recreate the look.

Lauren Alaina at the 2019 CMT Awards

Lauren Alaina left us breathless thanks to her colour-blocked sequin-covered bodycon dress. Paired with a high ponytail and simple black heels, the look is dazzling, to say the least.

Julia Michaels at the 2019 CMT Awards

Singer and songwriter Julia Michaels [15] channelled her inner Disney princess [16] in this floor-length strapless lavender gown, showing off her awesome lineup of tattoos.

Tegan Marie at the 2019 CMT Awards

Tegan Marie jumped on the jumpsuit bandwagon, wearing a sparkly short-sleeved ensemble with belt-like embellishments on her midsection.

Lindsay Ell at the 2019 CMT Awards

This purple and black sequin two-piece gave us major disco vibes. Obviously, the carpet was no stranger to sequins (or flared pants, for that matter), but Lindsay Ell made the look her own.

Ingrid Andress at the 2019 CMT Awards

Andress's blush-tone pink plunging two-piece suit is the perfect combination of dreamy and cool. Her choice of sparkly silver heels completes the super-chic ensemble.
