Lego Sneakers Are All Over Seoul Fashion Week, and They're About to Land in Your Closet

27/03/2019 - 08:08 PM

We're blown away by all the inventive ways people are styling their bucket hats [1] and polishing off suits at Seoul Fashion Week. We've got to give these street stars credit for their accessory choices. We spotted some of the brightest belts and bags finishing off outfits that feel sophisticated, and even pop art tees and totes don't come across as too playful. One of the biggest trends we're spotlighting? What we'll call "Lego sneakers," chunky designer trainers that look like a game of Tetris from far away. Since trends start here at Seoul Fashion Week, scroll down to see what you're about to be wearing.

Lego Sneakers

From far away, these (mostly designer) kicks could pass for colourful building blocks. The street style stars have been playing up splashy colour combos even more with the addition of striped socks or contrast laces. Basically, your sneakers are about to look like toys.

Compact Cases

Geometric bags that come in what we'll call the "perfect" size are everywhere. Whether you prefer a smooth oval, rounded-edge rectangle, or straight-edge square, you're basically swinging the shape of your choice by your side.

Lots of Lavender

Lavender could basically pass for a neutral on the streets of Seoul. It's probably more likely you'll spot a miniskirt in purple than classic denim and nylon cargos in orchid over camo print.

Pop Art Prints

Whether splashed onto button-downs or printed on tote bags and tees, bright pop art is the star, if your outfit can be considered the show.

Bucket Hats

We spotted bucket hats [3] all over the street at New York Fashion Week, but embroidered quotes and noticeable brand logos take these to the next level.

Crisp Tailoring

Even though you may recognise coordinated suit sets more immediately than the appeal of a button-down, it seems like women are looking to accentuate the collars on their button-downs and polish off structured blazers more than ever, sometimes with the help of a belt.

"You Had to Be There" Jackets

What your jacket says about where you've been is honestly everything. This is more than a high school varsity jacket — it's a statement piece that speaks to your soul and your own history.
