Sex and the City Miranda Halloween Costumes

Pledge Allegiance to Sex and the City's Low-Key Style Icon This Halloween: Miranda

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

Miranda is back, baby. With Cynthia Nixon running for Governor of New York and 2018 being hailed as the Year of The Miranda (be proud, Mirandas!), the classic Sex and the City character is more relevant than ever. After revisiting her boss lady style choices, we found tons of great outfits just begging to be recreated. What's even better? Miranda is known for her structured blazers, shirts, and the occasional pair of overalls, AKA stuff we already have — or, at least, have been wanting to add — to our closet.

Ahead, you'll find 10 iconic Miranda looks that will no doubt make great costumes come Oct. 31 . . . once you add a short red wig, of course!

There was no shortage of power suits in Miranda's closet — she even wore one the very first time we saw her! If you're looking to go with the most obvious Miranda choice (aka an outfit that will let everyone know who you are) style a structured blazer ($585, originally $1,950) over a button-down, then complete your look with some statement-making jewellery.

No, this isn't The Matrix — it's what Miranda wears to the movies! The key piece is a leather trench coat ($95, originally $135), so pull that baby over a turtleneck and you're pretty much set.

By now, you've probably noticed just how much this lady loves a turtleneck, so if you're looking to emulate her style on Oct. 31, you might want to pick up a bright red option ($335). But if it's Miranda's game day look you're after, specifically? You'll need to get some round, white sunglasses ($320), too.

Miranda was onto something with this bright pink, satin skirt, because these days, similar styles are everywhere. We're personally loving Topshop's Satin Drape Midi ($65), which can easily be paired with T-shirts and sweaters (and maybe Mary Jane flats?) long after Halloween is over.

It's possible you already have an oversize coat and some sort of baseball cap tucked away in your closet, so all you'll need is a pair of overalls ($330) to achieve Miranda's off-duty style.

No matter how strange this hood-and-hat combo may look, we have to applaud Miranda's efforts to protect her skin from the sun. When it comes time to put together your costume, simply pull on a hooded zip-up, add a black bucket hat ($15), and you're good to go.

In this particular episode, Miranda's most notable look is her, on the floor, naked, being rescued by Aiden after having a neck spasm. But we prefer Miranda in her blue pajama shirt ($120), complete with a neck brace, telling Carrie how messed up it was to send her boyfriend instead of coming herself.

Chocolate lovers everywhere can likely relate to Miranda eating cake out of the garbage, and you must admit: The idea of wearing a pink tee ($95), sweatpants, and carrying around a slice of something sweet in tinfoil is too good to pass up.

Miranda may have decided to ride this mechanical bull on a whim, but somehow, she still manages to dress the part. Recreate this ensemble by tucking a pale pink button-down ($120) into dark wash jeans, and then, of course, add some drop earrings and dainty necklace for that signature Miranda effect.

Throughout the years, Miranda's style became more "trendy" than "work" (but she still loves those statement earrings!), and by the time the Sex and the City movie came around, she was even getting fancy to help Carrie pack up her closet. Still, a printed black dress ($510) won't be the only piece you'll need to create this costume. Carry around a "Take" or "Toss" sign to give it that little something extra!
