If there's one thing we've learnt, however, it's that while the former Suits actress clearly has a thing for dainty jewellery and statement coats, she also has an eye for gorgeous handbags.
For her very first official engagement, Meghan chose a tote bag by Strathberry, which, according to a press release from the Scottish brand, sold out in 11 minutes flat. A few weeks later, she once again carried one of the brand's creations, showing that she's not afraid to go against protocol.

"We first realised something was going on when people started to call the office and ask if she was carrying our bag. We quickly checked the images online, and as soon as we saw the Tri-Colour Midi Tote (£495), we knew it was a Strathberry bag. After that it was all systems down, and we were asked for comments, images, and information about the brand and the particular bag she was carrying."
How the "Meghan Markle Effect" Has Impacted the Company
"There are around 1,000 people on the waiting list for the Bottle Green East/West Mini (£395) that Meghan Markle carried in Edinburgh. We estimate that, this year, sales will increase by 10 to 20 percent due to increased awareness of the brand from Ms. Markle carrying her Strathberry bags."
Meghan's Decision to Nix Royal Protocol Is "Great"
"We think it's great that Ms. Markle has her own style and chooses to do things slightly differently. The Strathberry East/West crossbody was a great choice for the day. While it complemented her outfit wonderfully, it also allowed her to walk around and spend the day meeting people and shaking hands without having to carry a clutch. It's a more comfortable bag to carry for longer periods of time."

"We would love to make Kate a bag one day. Our new upcoming tote will be great for a busy mum and will have the space and flexibility for carrying around everything you need for little ones."
