From the minute I heard about TOMS shoes, I knew it was a great idea. The footwear company founded by Blake Mycoskie in 2006 creates cool espadrilles, and for every pair sold donates another to a child in need in a developing country. Now, just four years later, TOMS are about to deliver their one-millionth pair of shoes to a child in Argentina!
Mycoskie explained that this definitely will only get bigger. "I don’t want it to be about us reaching a milestone. This is our way of saying thank you to the million people who’ve purchased Toms."
The shoes are comfortable and quite simple. There are only four different styles available and they are constructed from uncomplicated fibres. Mycoskie added, "We don’t try to be all things to all people." I think this is such a great cause. Congratulations to TOMS!
