Are you ready for the most glamorous pirate wenches you will ever see? Alice Temperley paid homage to the adventurous sailors of the seven seas with her Autumn/Winter collection, even setting the stage with a giant pirate ship. Models (or should that be "sirens," for that was the collection's title) sported dresses embroidered with tattoo prints, voluminous pirate shirts with big bows, and long masculine military-inspired jackets.
But fans of the designer's usually feminine style needn't worry. The look was also interpreted in delicate tiered dresses finished with lacy frills at the elbow, and evening gowns sporting embroidered swallows, seahorses, and leaping tigers. "Lost at Sea" read the epithet on the skirt of a pale blue minidress.
The overall result was more fun and playful than the previous season's offerings, yet it still offered many of the hallmarks that the designer is most known for. Outerwear was surprise hit amongst all those pretty dresses, with beautiful decorative capes, pixelated floral jackets, and those chic captain's jackets. All in, it was enough to win over even the biggest landlubber!
