The Truth Behind the "Real Girls" You Follow on Instagram
When we land upon a street style snap in our Instagram feed, the first thing we think is: I need that outfit. Now. The second thing we think? If only we could appear so #flawless in our own outfits. So it's refreshing to know that things are not always as perfect as they seem. Just like magazines, bloggers have found ways to make themselves look even more fabulous, and a new Instagram account called Wephotoshoppedwhat has shared some of the evidence, pointing out minor and seriously major Photoshop errors that bloggers, and even Beyoncé, have made.
While our first inclination is to blame fashion bloggers for using silly photo "corrector" apps, their reason for downloading them in the first place has a lot to do with our industry's ridiculous standards. We are not all fashion models. Everyone's legs are going to look different in over-the-knee boots. No one should feel pressured to stretch herself taller or create the illusion of a booty with more "bounce."
